Malte fell in love early in his life - with mathematical economic theory and econometrics.  He studied those subjects at Bonn University, the London School of Economics and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Two things were of particular interest to him in Economics  the beauty of hte mathematics and the concept of letting go - in general equilibrium, no one is told what to do yet all the individual parts arrange themselves in an efficient and harmonious whole.

When time came to do real research, Malte realised pretty quickly that he preferred inner to outer research. After a little detour to Wall Street and the world of finance, his path led to the Japanese martial art Karate.

Letting go is at the heart of Malte's Karate practice. In his view, the fighter comes together as a powerful whole, when all his parts are recognised in their essence and are left to freely articulate that substance. All of Buddhist martial art is built on that paradox: the more you let existence be free, the more freely it can align along a sense of mission.

This point of view informs Malte's coaching practice. Truly letting go is hard to do. It allows us, though,  to recognise the world without fixed filter and to accord it its essential dignity.  Leading his clients into that space of dignity and freedom is Malte's main task as a coach.  His power allows him to protect his clients and not to manipulate them. He leads his clients in gentle strength, be they individuals or groups. They are well sheltered and can face themselves, truly.

Malte spent ten years in the US before returning to Germany and moving to Berlin. There, he taught Karate and meditation at the German federal Parliament. Since 2010  he directs a school for Karate and Inner Stillness " Innere Stille " in Berlin Kreuzberg.
